Enter a world of arts and culture this spring in Noosa, with a handful of world-class art events dotted throughout the Noosa region during the month of October. From the boundary-pushing installations at Noosa Regional Gallery, to the winding art trail of Noosa Open Studios, and a glimpse into the architectural evolution of Noosa at Sunshine Coast Open House, there’s something for every art lover this spring in Noosa.
Noosa Open Studios Art Trail provides locals and visitors the unique opportunity to visit artists in their private studios, workshops and galleries. With 117 eclectic art studios open to the public, across nine days in October, Noosa Open Studios is Queensland’s largest open studios event – and the second largest in Australia! The 2022 festival will be the largest in the events’ history, with a record number of participating artists, and five different art trails to explore from the coast to the hinterland. Home to a rotating display of local art and curated exhibitions, Noosa Regional Gallery is the largest regional gallery space in Queensland and this spring season will host exhibits from local artists that explore varied mediums and themes.

Jordyn Burnett : A Glow From Below

Sunshine Coast based artist, Jordyn Burnett, peers through a feminist lens, using solid colours and illustrative characters to explore socio-political themes, her own experiences with mental health and the mundane. Her work expresses a vulnerability shown through a vomit of colour.

Visit Pottery for the Planet during Noosa Open Studios, and witness the production of their colourful, earth-friendly local ceramics, from their studio in the Noosaville Industrial Estate. The studio doors will be open to the public from 10am through to 4pm every day, from the 1st of October to the 9th of October. Experience the ceramic art form in the making, or to grab a beautiful and unique gift or piece for your home.
Abstract Botanical with Bronwyn Barton 
A weekend workshop – October 29 & 30 – 10am to 4pm.
Participants will spend time freeing up with some mark-making exercises. To build the composition, you will use botanical references to explore the idea of painting negatively. Participants will then use the techniques learned to compose a larger painting.
A favourite among Noosa locals and a must-do for visitors, visit the Kim Wallace Ceramics studio shop in Noosaville, as part of the Noosa Open Studios event. Get a glimpse into the production studio and the team of ceramicists at work, and indulge in the gorgeous homewares and locally made gifts, hand picked to complement the KWC range.
Develop your creativity and produce an amazing piece of clay art worthy of proud display. As an aspiring artist, with or without experience, you will make your pottery or sculpture masterpiece from your own creative ingenuity, at your own pace and with plenty of one-on-one guidance from Cathy Spencer, Award Winning Potter and Sculptor at Fried Mudd Studio and Gallery.
