From trackside to seaside here's all you need to plan your 2019 Noosa Triathlon

THE NOOSA TRIATHLON is here and to help you with all the must-do's to make your 2019 Noosa Tri Festival totally epic, we've pulled together our top tips for enjoying the Triathlon vibe. 

First up, let talk Tri Transfers

It's going to be totally pumping in Hastings Street so to get there in total style and ease, we've got a few friends to help you!

1. Noosa River and Canal Cruises are running 7 transfers on Sunday November 3, departing from The Jetty - 186 Gympie Tce, Noosaville bound for the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Jetty - book online or call 0414 727 765. Time cruising – approx. 20/25 minutes. Cost $13pp one way.

3. The Noosa Ferry is offering a Noosa Tri Weekend Two Day Pass for unlimited travel over Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November. Book here!

Sport & Lifestyle Expo

The 2019 Noosa Triathlon Sport & Lifestyle Expo is back again in the Noosa Woods at the end of Hastings Street. Don’t miss your chance to attend Australia’s biggest triathlon and multi-sport festival!

Check out the best gear available to sport around town, mingle with your favourite elite athletes, browse over 70 brands selling and showcasing the latest and greatest products and soak in the Tri vibe.

Open on Friday 1 November from 8am - 7pm and Saturday 2 November from 8am - 5pm.

Join in the events

The festival kicked off with the Noosa Run Swim Run on Wednesday and you can still enter some festival events, the ideal warm-up for Sunday's Noosa Tri. Register online for these events – some you can register on the day.

On Friday

The GemLife Noosa Breakfast Fun Run. Get your pink on and take the family for a morning run or walk along Noosa Main Beach and around Festival Village – all in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Your entry includes breakfast in Noosa Woods after the run and random draw prizes.

TITAN Noosa 1000 Ocean Swim. Take an ocean swim from the shores of the beautiful Noosa Main Beach.

Tour De Noosa Garth Prowd Ride. Open to cyclists of all ages, this fun ride will cover the Noosa Tri bike course. All proceeds go to the Garth Prowd OAM Triathlon Scholarship to continue the legacy he created with the Noosa Triathlon, helping athletes reach their full potential.

On Saturday

Superkidz Triathlon from 7.30am and Tingirana Special Triathlon from 8.15am

Super Saturday, Noosa Pde, Noosa Heads from 2pm:

Australian Open Criterium - Women's race starts from 2.30pm, men from 4.40pm. Watch some of Australia's best professional cyclists race on the super fast, 30-minute + 3-lap 'hot dog' circuit along Noosa Parade – it’s a great course for spectators!

Legends Triathlon from 3.20pm

ASICS 5km Bolt Race from 4pm

On Sunday

Team Tri entries are still available if you're keen to join in or just cheer on the 8000 competitors and elite athletes. The Tri course starts with a swim off Noosa’s Main Beach, followed by a cycle from Noosa Parade through Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Tewantin and Cooroy, and finishes up with the run along Noosa Parade and Weyba Rd, Noosaville.

The Noosa Tri Elite Race starts at 5.45am (AEST). Tri superstars Ash Gentle and Aaron Royle defend their titles against some of Australia's best triathletes.

Sunday Sesh at the Festival Village Main Stage, Noosa Woods at 2.45pm on Sunday 3 November with a trivia quiz where you can win 2 nights accommodation at the 5-star RACV Noosa Resort and an individual entry to the 2020 Noosa Triathlon.


There are some great spectator spots, not just along the Tri course - for something special, there’s a VIP Trackside Garden Area for Super Saturday and for the Noosa Tri on Sunday. Experience all the excitement of the finish line, an outside bar, umbrellas and the best seats in the house as you watch the winners cross the finish line.

If you can't make it to Noosa you can still catch the action from Super Saturday from 2pm and the Noosa Tri from 5.45am live on our Facebook page – calling the action are Noosa Tri regular and the voice of cycling in Australia Matt Keenan; and 5-time Noosa Tri champion, 3-time ITU World Triathlon champion, Olympic Gold medallist and Sport Australia Hall of Fame inductee Emma Frodeno.

Trees for Tourism

$1 for every event entry will be donated to Trees for Tourism, a sustainability initiative by Tourism Noosa and Noosa and District Landcare supporting tree planting through the Noosa region for land rehabilitation, carbon emission reduction and the protection and enhancement of koala habitat.

There won’t be a Noosa Farmers Market this Sunday 3 November as the road is closed.
