In the heart of the Noosa hinterland, The Majestic Theatre has stood like a grand lady of Hollywood since 1921. It is the only theatre in the world that still continuously screens silent films and has been lovingly restored by the community to showcase a unique selection of films and entertainment.
The heritage-listed Majestic Theatre in the country town of Pomona, just 30 minutes from Noosa Heads, regularly screens silent films from the 1920s, accompanied by a live piano performance by Maestro Ron West on the beautifully restored 1937 Compton organ, one of only four in the world. This is a wonderful and authentic experience like no other.
The Majestic also regularly runs fun film theme nights for cults and classics, and hosts local and national touring live music acts.
While the golden age of silent cinema lives on at The Majestic, it’s also a unique venue for business seminars, wedding ceremonies and receptions, birthday parties, corporate conventions, community concerts, events and festival, dance parties and fundraisers.
