Step back in time and follow the Cooloola Wilderness Trail to Mill Point, one of Queensland’s earliest timber settlements from the 1800s. On the shores of Lake Cootharaba, an old tram track leads to the ruins, including an old cemetery, which are listed on the Queensland Heritage Register.
Start from the serene waters of Queensland’s largest natural saltwater lake. Camp lakeside at Boreen or Elanda Points and wake up to kangaroos and birdsong or hire a kayak and paddle out. Swim, stand-up paddle, sail or walk along the shore, and if time allows, join a Noosa Everglades tour.
Drive through the green hills of Noosa’s countryside, looking out for roadside farm stalls to fill your basket along the way. Visit the Cooloola Berries farm café, open every day for delicious snacks, or pick your own strawberries in-season (June to November).
