In the aftermath of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, we count ourselves lucky in Noosa, but our thoughts are with our close communities in Brisbane, Fraser Coast and the Gold Coast who faced significant challenges, including flooding and power outages. We acknowledge the resilience of our industry and the broader community in preparing for this event, and thank you for your efforts.
We also thank the emergency services personnel and Noosa Council for their vigilance and dedication throughout the event.
FREE OPPORTUNITY – MEMBER DEALS
We offered members the chance to provide compelling accommodation or experience deals to show Australia that Noosa is open and ready to welcome visitors back.
We supported the mini campaign with a special newsletter to our extensive national consumer database and through our Visit Noosa social media platforms.
You can also load the deal on to your ATDW (Australian Tourism Data Warehouse) listing, if you have one, in readiness for inclusion in any recovery campaigns coordinated through Tourism and Events Queensland.
The Qld Government is offering support to small businesses impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, including:

If your business has been affected by closures, we would like to hear from you. We are collating information on economic losses for our region to share with the State Government, as they consider any financial assistance and/or longer-term capacity-building initiatives for our industry.
Please reach out to us at members@tourismnoosa.com.au with details of any impacts your business has experienced.
We will also let members know of any government financial help that becomes available.
The Queensland Government is asking business owners and primary producers who have been impacted by Tropical Cyclone Alfred to provide feedback to help them understand what assistance Queensland businesses need after a disaster. Any information you provide is confidential.

While we look forward to welcoming visitors, it’s also a crucial time to support our local community and businesses. Have you considered reaching out to your local followers and offering a locals deal to encourage them to come and support businesses that lost trade during last week’s closures?
We encourage everyone to love local – grab a coffee, enjoy a meal out, book that tour you’ve always wanted to do, or even take a staycation. Every bit of local support helps our businesses and industry bounce back stronger.
We have launched sales for a new Noosa Country Drive map, with marketing opportunities for members operating in the hinterland.
This is a popular publication for visitors and locals - only a few places remain, so book your spot now.
Thank you for your proactive response in supporting Noosa’s recovery.
