Employing a trainee is easy if you know how. Here are some tips that may help you:
Interview and appoint a new Team Member. Or ask Regional Training to assist with your recruitment. If school-based, we can assist in arranging interviews and work experience.
Contact an AASN. We work with all 4 Australian Apprenticeship Support Networks which are: Busy At Work, MEGT, Sarina Russo Apprenticeships and MAS Experience. Each of these AASNs will collate and submit the Training Contract to the Government.
Contact a quality Registered Training Organisation (like Regional Training) to enrol the trainee and obtain signatures from all parties.
Traineeship training commences. Trainee undertakes both theory and practical components. Regional Training trainers visit trainees once a month. Regional Training also provide monthly progress reports of all trainees.
First 6-month incentive payment to be claimed. Employer is provided with links and information to claim this Government incentive.
Some trainees complete in 12 months (Full-time) or 24 months (Part-time/School-based). Trainees need to complete the required work hours as well as all of their theory. Upon completion, the employer may claim the completion incentive.
