Since its inception in 1991, Noosa & District Landcare Group has been operating as a community non-for-profit organisation supporting the restoration of the Noosa and surrounding regions. Unlike many traditional Landcare groups, their business model has evolved so they can provide a range of professional, fee-for-service work and project delivery that supports our community engagement and investment. This means you can be sure that your dollar is not only getting the vital work done but is also educating a new generation of landcarers at the same time.
With over 30 years’ experience in vegetation management and horticulture, Noosa & District Landcare Group provides a diverse range of services including carbon and environmental offsets, ecosystem restoration, vegetation management, environmental consultancy, training and education, and native plant production.
While operating primarily at a grassroots level, Noosa & District Landcare also contributes at a strategic planning level on matters of state and national significance.
Their strong environmental ethic and ability to deliver quality results, starting from the project proposal stage through to implementation, is widely recognised. They take pride in ensuring their projects create long-lasting impact on our surrounding environment and for their clients.
Tourism Noosa is proud to have partnered with Noosa & District Landcare for more than 12 years in many environmental projects. Our key ongoing project, the Trees for Tourism program, brings the community together to plant trees throughout the Noosa Biosphere Trails and other public areas of Noosa and the hinterland. Participants in these tree-planting activities include tourism businesses, individuals, visitors and event organisers and teams.
